Tired of the rat race? Thinking of selling up and moving the country? Here’s a couple of important questions to get the mind whirring over this life changing decision. Ahh…life in the county – sounds so idyllic doesn’t? I can almost smell the hot bread in the oven; hear the chooks scuffing around outside, sheep in the next paddock and the roar of a ride on mower. But there are a million things to organize and consider before you can get to that point, where do you start?

When I was a child, I loved rainbows. Like strikingly ungrown girls, I drew them on just about means I could find. I loved having all the bright colors nearing through the sky, with the sun glowing down on them. My drawings always had a big pot of skin at the end of the arch. I imagined those rainbows would bring me to that pot of gold.

Throughout my life, I have read inspirational books, listened to motivational CDs and attended many personal development seminars. If not for the encouragement, as well as the treasure trove of power-tips and techniques these materials provided, I would probably still be asking myself what a purposeful life would look like, and how I can have one.

I tend to procrastinate. I can start my day with the best of intentions to get important tasks done, but I soon find myself detouring from the path. I end up filling my hours with busyness and errands. I know the most important things I need to do, and the ones that will bring me ultimate happiness; but I tend to put the more pressing things first, such as chores, errands, phone calls, etcetera.

I don’t know about you, but I have a lot on my plate and it keeps getting fuller and fuller. Being a wife, mother, entrepreneur, friend, sister, daughter, etc. brings on a whole laundry list of responsibilities and obligations that need to be fulfilled. I can easily fill my day with tasks and errands that can bring me off course to my optimal destination; the destination of my goals.

What if we all could go through life with out worrying with regards to money, jobs, kids, relationships, and just be satisfied? Joy isn’t a destination. It is a positive feeling of appreciation, gratitude, and satisfaction regarding our current scenario. We all accomplish this feeling by emphasizing and acknowledging all the great things in our lives. Abraham Lincoln stated: “Most persons are with regards to as happy as they make up their minds to be.” It is truly not much what happens to us in life, but how we all respond to those happenings.

Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.

Thoughts have power. They drive our decisions, our goals, our dreams, and ultimately our lives. Are you living the life you’ve always dreamed of living? If not, then what were you thinking?

The name of Chapter 1 is this is “Set The Table”. By this Brian Tracy means that first you have to figure out what you want to do with your life before you can figure out what the frog to eat.
