Orange goes very well with blue and although it is just a secondary color and not a primary one it is very dominant. The secondary colors purple and green are also very dominant. Mixing red and yellow will give you the color orange. Power and energy are brought into the painting by filling it with both of these colors. Orange, as the product so to speak of these very dominant colors, is also very warm and very powerful as well as lending brightness to the canvas. Famous artist, Frederic Leighton successfully used the color orange in such a masterful way that other artists can only aspire to its greatness. Fruit is not the only thing that orange can be used for in paintings.
