Of all the different battle flags that have been flown during the last few hundred years, and according to some, the Bedford flag may be the only existing battle flag of the American Revolution today.

During the last few years I have observed and seen some pretty good memorial ideas but I have also observed and seen some pretty bad memorial ideas also. Now, what determines whether or not a memorial idea is either good or bad. What makes the difference? Is it personal preference alone? Or, are some of these ideas good or bad for a reason?

There have been some pretty bad monument or memorial ideas that I have seen over the last few years. Having said that, I have also seen and been inspired by some really wonderful memorial ideas. Ask yourself these questions: What then makes the difference? Is it “my” personal preference that gets in the way or are some of these ideas really bad for a reason? Also, are the good memorial ideas really good for a specific reason?

Having worked as a structural engineer for some seasons now and also having had the privilege of working for numerous flagpole suppliers in the U.S., the following 2 questions have come to my mind: what is the tallest flagpole in the world? Where does this flagpole stand?
